Be Thankful #24
Watching my niece have all sorts of fun playing with my smartphone: she played the birdie game, the camera game and one of her favorites, the flashlight game

Freshly made bread! I'm planning on making at least one batch of homemade french bread (but will more than likely double the recipe) for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Can't wait! I love the process of working with the dough and the smell of the yeast as the bread is baking. I'm not sure if I'll be able to wait until tomorrow to have any!

I am thankful for being able to create things. I was inspired by Wee Little Stitches to create a pixelated version of Captain America. I was able to draw up a version on paper and then turned it into a small cross stitch pattern- all before the boyfriend got home from bowling. Of course, I want to tweek my pattern a bit but I enjoyed the process so much!

Finally being able to coordinate my schedule with my Mikey. Its been too long since we had a trip to BN, some dinner and random meandering through Target.

Lazy Sundays spent in my pjs, watching football on the couch with the boyfriend and the kitty, while finishing up a handmade Christmas present.
Yes please, can I have another. :D

Running for 20 min straight with no problems. *bliss* I can't wait to get back to more running. Its been a struggle between what I want to do and what I can do. I keep thinking that signing up for a Thanksgiving 5k sounds like a great idea, but haven't felt that my body is up to it yet. I'm working on it. I do want to get another half in soon, not sure if it will be next year- but I do want to do it!

I'm not sure if words can full describe all that the this picture shows. So thankful to have both of them in my life and that they get along.

During my conversation with my physical therapist yesterday, he mentioned something that makes so much sense with all the symptoms/issues that I've been having. He told me that I was very hamstring dominant. I spent some time with the Googles and came across many convincing articles that helped make this click for me. Most importantly, there was one image found on this page, that sealed it for me. My PT had me lay down on my stomach and lift each leg. I really have to work to get my glut to activate to do this simple lift.
I really am hoping that this is what has been causing me problems with my running for waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long! I've been told everything from not enough flexibility in my hip flexors, to piriformis syndrome, to possibly a torn hip labrum, but hearing that it might just be a simple muscle imbalance- *sigh* With this knowledge, I hope to really get things back on track so I can run another half! :D

I'm thankful for the unexpected places you can find humor in life. I was able to get my physical therapist to check out my hip/leg yesterday. He did some adjusted and cracked a few bones in the process. Of course this caused me to grin because I love a good back/knuckle/joint crack, his response, "I bet you didn't know that you were a crack addict"

Getting my wonderful boyfriend to stop and pick up dinner so I wouldn't have to cook tonight. I've been dealing with some weird nerve pain in both my neck and hip- had the neck checked out this morning and have been pretty sore after the treatment. The hip is tomorrow- should be lots of fun!
